Hapi People Spotlight: Oli Dizon
This month, we’re excited to spotlight Oli Dizon, a member of our Support team who embodies the value of Ever Improving... constantly finding ways to simplify processes, solve complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact behind the scenes… an approach that recently led to his promotion to Supervisor.
Supporting Hotels Every Step of the Way
Can you describe your role and responsibilities?
At Hapi, I currently focus on post-implementation support. Our team helps hotel properties after their systems have already been implemented to make sure everything continues running smoothly.
Most of the time, we assist properties when they encounter issues with their interfaces or their reward systems. Properties usually reach out to us when they experience a problem or need guidance on what to do next.
Our role is to investigate the issue, provide instructions or troubleshooting steps, and help resolve the problem. Afterward, we also test the system with the property to make sure everything is working properly again. It’s a continuation of my previous experience supporting hotels and their technology.
Growing with Hapi
How long ago did you join Hapi, and what differences have you noticed since then?
I joined Hapi in January 2025. When I first started, I was mostly handling simpler tasks while getting familiar with the systems and processes. Over time, I’ve been trusted with more challenging and interesting work, which has been a great learning experience.
I’ve also noticed that the management team really tries to understand each team member’s strengths and areas for improvement and supports our growth.
Living the Value: Ever Improving
How do you personally connect with this value?
For me, “Ever Improving” means always looking for ways to make processes more efficient and less time-consuming. In my daily work I try to identify tasks that can be simplified or streamlined using the tools available to us.
For example, during a project involving hotel key activations across three regions, which are America, the UK, and APAC — I worked on improving the process. Previously, activating 20 to 40 sites per day could take around 8–12 hours when done manually. By streamlining the workflow, we were able to reduce the time to about 2–3 hours.
This not only saved time for other projects but also reduced the risk of human error that can happen with repetitive manual tasks. Overall, I try to continuously look for small improvements that make our work more efficient and allow the team to focus on more important tasks.
Turning Challenges into Wins
What has been one of your most memorable experiences or achievements at Hapi?
One of the things I enjoy most about my work at Hapi is solving challenging issues. I like working on complex problems that require investigation and persistence. It often feels like solving a puzzle that I keep working on until I find the solution.
A particularly memorable moment for me was when my manager acknowledged my contribution to a process streamlining project. I usually prefer working in the background and focus on getting the work done rather than seeking recognition, so the acknowledgment was unexpected. Knowing that the improvements I worked on made a meaningful impact on the team and our processes made that moment especially rewarding.
What’s Your Secret Talent?
One of my favorite hobbies is taking care of animals. At home, I currently have four dogs, two cats, and even a shrimp tank with different colors of miniature shrimp.
I really enjoy spending time with them and maintaining their environment. All of my pets were adopted or given to me, for example, one of my cats was given by a neighbor, so it’s something I find very rewarding as well.
What Makes You Hapi?
What really makes me happy is being with my family. I enjoy spending time with them and helping them out whenever I can. For about a decade I lived away from my home province, so being able to work from home now and live with my family again means a lot to me.
Being close to family while continuing to work and grow in my role is something I truly value. It’s something that genuinely makes me happy both in life and at work.
Final Thoughts
This story is a reminder that improvement doesn’t always come from big changes — often, it’s the small optimizations that make the biggest difference. By simplifying processes, solving complex challenges, and continuously looking for better ways to work, they truly embody what it means to be Ever Improving.
